Not accepting Kubuntu, Hannah Montana (because it is only Kubuntu) + this theme, Arch Linux, Debian, Kali, Xubuntu, or KDE Neon. All other distributions appreciated! Previous window manager experience is around Ratpoison, Openbox, XFCE, KDE Plasma. Recently began trying out LXQT, but still early days. Edit button click here, or lives bottom right of wiki.
Modest Dell Latitude 5410.
Tried the Lite version, which is built for LXQT. Immediately ran into issues with the Live disk installer, which I do not find surprising considering only 10 people had downloaded it off of Sourceforge. Built on Debian Stable.
When partitioning you cannot got back to the option to format the entire disk, etc. without restarting the live disk itself. If you attempt smaller, manual changes you will be unable to actually confirm those changes…. there is no option or keypress short of reboot. This process could have been ignored, but even the ext4 defaults kept failing to install the bootloader properly. I sadly switched to MX Linux and it installed seamlessly.
I decided to try the lightest Fluxbox install, built on Debian stable. Installation was no issue. The responsiveness of Fluxbox is great, and the trade-off is it immediately feels like a bunch of overlays instead of a a traditional desktop.
