Description:

Programming is often an exclusionary process; code is frequently hard to read, test, and maintain, meaning only a small number of people can truly understand any given software project. This session argues that all users deserve the ability to control their own software regardless of their capacity to code. To achieve this, the speaker advocates for the development of visual, literate, and natural language programming tools that empower users to instruct their computers directly, without relying on the “black box” of LLMs and Generative AI.

Target Audience:

  • Software developers interested in accessibility
  • Users who want more control over their technology
  • Advocates for literate and visual programming paradigms
