Description:
Modern services depend on a complex orchestration of compute, databases, messaging, and observability tools that must work reliably across multiple environments. This session explores how to combine open-source Kubernetes operators—including Config Connector, Istio, Argo CD, and Crossplane—to build complete, isolated, self-service environments. The presenter will share practical lessons on using these controllers as building blocks for platform engineering, demonstrating how Crossplane compositions can transform low-level infrastructure resources into higher-level platform APIs. Attendees will learn how to provision cloud infrastructure, networking, and security controls automatically while enforcing organizational standards without sacrificing flexibility.
Target Audience:
- Platform engineers and SREs
- Kubernetes users looking to scale infrastructure management
- Software architects interested in cloud-native platform APIs
